Block on free wedge on horizontal floor

The scenario here is a dry block (with a stable surface of contact) on one of the inclines of a free wedge that is placed on a fixed horizontal floor. The block is thus free to slide along the incline of the wedge and the wedge in turn is free to slide along the horizontal floor.
We assume that the block undergoes no rotational motion, i.e., it does not roll or topple. Although the diagram here shows a block with a square cross section, this assumption is not necessary as long as we assume that the block undergoes no rotational motion.
